Commissioned through open call, artist Sara Hibbert immersed herself in this family run gymnastics club, observing their amazing talent, energy and dedication. Throughout the series, images are included of the coaches also. Inviting them to re-stage their support gestures, Sara overlays these abstractions with drawings created by gymnasts in response to the prompt ‘draw a skill as a continuous line’. The work can be seen large-scale in the windows of the new Hove Gardens building on Conway Street as well as on Dyson Gymnastics Club’s entry gates.
