Who can apply?
This opportunity is open to artists based in the South East of England whose practice centres moving image and/or lens-based media and who have experience of socially engaged or participatory practice.

Do I need to identify as LGBTQIA+ to apply?
We welcome applications from artists of all backgrounds. However, we recognise that lived experience helps build trust, fosters inclusivity and reduces 'blind spots' to hidden barriers. Applicants should demonstrate an understanding of, and commitment to, working respectfully and collaboratively with LGBTQIA+ young people.

Can collectives or collaborative partnerships apply?
At present, we are seeking applications from individual artists and the commission fee is fixed. If you wish to apply as a collective or partnership, please contact us before applying to discuss your proposal.

Do I need a DBS certificate?
Not at the application stage. The successful artist will be required to comply with safeguarding procedures and may be asked to undertake a DBS check if appropriate.

How much creative freedom will the commissioned artist have?
We are looking for artists with a strong creative vision. While the project responds to the themes and aesthetics of Daisies (1966), we are interested in a wide range of interpretations and approaches.

What support will Corridor provide?
Corridor will manage the commission process, provide project support and facilitate introductions to participants and project partners. We can also provide access to some equipment and workshop materials where required.

Will there be opportunities to connect with the other commissioned artists?
Yes. The project includes opportunities for peer learning, exchange and discussion between commissioned artists, including conversations around collaborative practice and authorship.

What is the expected time commitment?
We expect the artist to participate in planning meetings, deliver workshops with participants, develop new work and contribute to project evaluation. Further details will be discussed with shortlisted applicants and the appointed artist.

Where will the workshops take place?
Workshops will take place in the Lancing and Shoreham areas, West Sussex. Reasonable regional travel costs will be covered, but applicants need to be able to travel to the area (within a reasonable time frame) to work directly with participants.

Can I submit my application in an alternative format?
Yes. We are happy to accept video or audio applications. 

How will applications be assessed?
Applications will be assessed on the quality of the proposed approach, artistic practice, relevant experience, understanding of collaborative working, and suitability for the aims of the project.

When will applicants hear the outcome?
We aim to notify all applicants as soon as possible following the selection process. Shortlisted artists may be invited to an interview or conversation before a final decision is made.
