Cole & Joslin
Sarah Cole & Annis Joslin will be working with a group of women aged 40+ in partnership with BWC in Worthing.
Cole & Joslin are artists whose work is social, collaborative and award-winning. They make work through conversations and multi-disciplinary workshops, leading to co-authored video, drawings, texts, images, performances, installations and presentations. Their work is shown at film and digital festivals, in galleries, museums, and diverse community contexts.
Their collaborative practice encourages conversations through play; using different media and materials, opening up shared dialogues in supportive, safe spaces. The outcomes are often speculative; they use the process to create images and videos that communicate ideas as they emerge, and that kick-start the next iteration of practice. Contributors are consulted through-out and robust conversations are maintained to ensure full transparency and engagement.
This is a slow way to work, responsive to the sensitivities and vulnerabilities inherent within a creative process and can have significant impact on the lives of the people who participate. They are invested in supporting people to explore the complexities of their lives, finding form to articulate the experiences of mental and physical health issues, trauma and neurodiversity.
